Kit Boyd grew up in Warwickshire and studied Visual Art at Aberystwyth University in the late 80s.
Now living and working from London, his printmaking is far from urban and is more influenced by the landscapes of mid-Wales and Shropshire, and the coasts of the south-west.
Exploring our relationship with nature, his images combine the pastoral and surreal. Using memory, the subsconscious, and nostalgia for the landscape, his prints take the viewer away from the real world to imaginary places far from the modern world. He follows in the romantic tradition and is particularly influenced by British neo-romantic artists of the 1940s.
Kit's work has been selected for The ING Discerning Eye, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and his landscape etchings were chosen for The Poetic Impulse – the Etchings of Samuel Palmer, his Peers and Followers at the Court Barn Museum, Chipping Camden, Oxfordshire in 2012.
He shows with Greenwich Printmakers, Southbank Printmakers and several private galleries in London.
