Saturday 4th April 2015
Show runs until the 9th May
Jack House Gallery opens to the public on Saturday 4th April with an exhibition of drawings by the much lauded young artist Amartey Golding. His distinctive work launches the gallery’s programme of both ‘one man shows’ and shared space that aims to champion exceptional contemporary art.
Situated in the heart of Old Portsmouth this commercial art gallery is part of the exciting new art scene that is developing in the city’s extraordinary historic district. Rebecca Crow, owner and curator, says that the stylish Jack House Gallery will show affordable high quality original paintings, drawings, fine art prints and ceramics in a beautiful, modern setting.
“I absolutely love the old town and the surrounding streets and nearby cathedral,” admits
Rebecca, who gained a degree in Fine Art at Portsmouth, “and I see Jack House playing an
important part in the revival of our local heritage.”
The doors open at 10am and you are invited to meet the artist Amartey Golding, and join
Rebecca and her co-curator Anna Burdick, for refreshments.
There will be much to look at and enjoy.
